ABOUT THE FELLOWSHIP OF ST NICHOLAS
(FSN)
Beginnings:
FSN was established as a registered charity in 1939 through the efforts
of its founder Father Mellor. Its purpose was to retain and develop homes
for boys and later girls whose parents for various reasons were unable
to look after them. From 1939 until late 1985 FSN continued this work
in its homes based in Hastings and St. Leonards. Staff lived with the
children sometimes bringing them up alongside their own children.
From
1985 FSN moved away from running children’s homes and responded
to new needs and by developing a range of community based services.

and refurbishing of the St. Nicholas Centre which is now it's registered
office. From this secure base FSN has grown to be leading provider in
Hastings and St Leonards for family support work. In 2009 FSN celebrated
70 years of serving children and families by hosting a 70th Birthday Party
in its grounds with stalls depicting the toys, music and dress from the
30's to the 200's.
