St. Nick's Nursery is based in the annex building in the grounds of the St. Nicholas Centre in Central St. Leonards. The nursery is divided into two main areas:
Baby Room and
Toddler/Pre-school Room

The Baby Room is well equipped to a high standard with cots and high chairs as well as appropriate play equipment. Children are encouraged to learn through play using the
'Early Years Foundation Stage' curriculum.

Toddler area
Provides a range of equipment for children up to three years according to their developing needs using the
'Early Years Foundation Stage' curriculum.

Pre-school area area
Providing stimulating activities and promoting progression through 'Stepping Stones to Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum..

The nursery has a large and colourful all weather outdoor play area.

St. Nick's Nursery is Registered with
OFSTED Registration No. 511215

STAFF
Staff ae trained to Makaton Signing, 1st Aid and Child Protection with a minimum of NVQ2 qualification. Staff ratios are always in accordance with new National Standards for Childcare
which are:
0-2 years: 1 staff to 3 children
2 years old: 1 staff to 4 children
3+ years old: 1 staff to 8 children

There are always two practitioners
present at all time

The Nursery follows the National Day Care Standards to a high specification, and is working towards achieving Aiming High Quality
Assurance Accreditation.

Healthy and nutritional snacks are provided in the day but parents / carers should provide a packed lunch/baby milk and nappies,
if required.

Parents/carers are encouraged to spend time in the nursery settling their child/children in or helping out with special activities/trips
